We offer a wide range of services to a very wide range of people from Plymouth and the surrounding areas. We are able to offer a variety of volunteering opportunities which all contribute to the smooth running of the organisation.
Indeed volunteers are very important to us as they help to ensure the sustainability of our organisation - ensuring that we will be able to continue to offer our services to our members in the future.

• Counting, weighing and sorting items for the shop
• Maintaining stock levels in the shop and scrap store
• Helping customers choose items to hire
• Basic administration - photocopying, laminating, folding
• Answering the phone
• Assisting with the collection of recyclable items from suppliers (as driver or co-worker)
• Serving in the shop
• Cataloguing resources
• Creating a window display
• Assisting with the production of the Newsletter
• Checking items when returned
• Running informal craft sessions
• Helping to keep the spaces tidy and safe
• Assisting with play events and workshops across the city

We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. Individual support is available if required.
Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of 4 hours a week (these can be flexible). They can work with the public or in a more private area - with others or on their own. Tasks are identified to meet individuals’ needs. All the tasks need to be done by someone! IS THAT YOU?
Volunteers are given an informal introduction to the organisation and an interview. They then work for a few sessions before being asked to complete an application form - for which help is available.
Volunteers involved with workshops and playdays will be asked to complete a Criminal Records Bureau Form - with assistance if needed.
